dc.description.abstract | The objective of this thematic paper is to find how to increase employee motivation in small family businesses. This research was using an in-depth interview with employees who have been working in the small family business for over 10 years and the owner of the family business by asking open-ended questions in order to let them share their views and experiences. The two main theoretical frameworks that are applied in this paper are Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs and Goal Setting Theory. The result from the interview showed the employee’s motivation level and the factors which motivated them. The result from the analysis is shown that how could small family businesses can adjust and improve according to the requirement of the applied theories. At the end of the paper, there are recommendations for the small family business to follow in order to increase their employee’s motivation which leads to higher performance of the employees and the company. | en_US |
