Abstract: This thematic paper presents a comprehensive equity valuation analysis of Pinduoduo (PDD), a leading player in China's burgeoning e-commerce sector. Employing a top-down analytical approach, the study traverses from macroeconomic indicators to industry-specific dynamics, encapsulating the multifaceted factors influencing PDD's valuation. Central to this analysis is the Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) model, underpinned by an estimate of the Weighted Average Cost of Capital (WACC), which serves as the cornerstone for intrinsic value assessment. To encapsulate the spectrum of potential financial outcomes, sensitivity and scenario analyses are conducted, delineating the impact of variable shifts on the DCF valuation result. The study further delves into the inherent risks and limitations associated with the valuation process, offering a balanced perspective on the investment outlook. The findings suggest a significant upside potential for PDD, albeit tempered by market volatilities and operational challenges.
