This study examines the satisfaction of working professionals in Northern China with smart kitchen appliances. It focuses on six factors: technical performance, interface design, price sensitivity, ritualistic satisfaction in cooking, work-life balance impact, and time efficiency. Ten participants were interviewed using a semi-structured format. The results show that users value convenience, ease of use, and time-saving features. Many appreciate preset modes and automatic functions. Some participants said smart appliances made cooking more enjoyable and meaningful. Others were concerned about reduced involvement in traditional cooking. Interface design and price were also key considerations. The study offers suggestions for improving product design and helping smart kitchen technologies better fit users’ daily lives and cultural habits.en_US
