Abstract: | The findings of this research show that the most important factors that the foreign backpackers consider when making a decision to buy hostel accommodation are that the hostel must provide internet service and the cleanliness of the bedroom and bathroom. The price is a secondary factor that they consider, and they also consider paying a higher price if it provides a trade–off to having a good location. In terms of gender, there are only some variables that are significantly different between male and female backpackers, but most of the factors are not statistically different between age groups.
