Abstract: Employees are the most valuable assets of an organization. The success or failure of organisations depends on the brilliance or excellence of the culture, their ability to attract, and retain talented and competent employees. This research aims to investigate the level of employee motivation and satisfaction based on Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs and analyze the factors which has positive and negative impact on employee contributing to their willingness to remain with the organization. The data was collected from employees in the telecommunications company by in-depth interviewing with 10 participants. The results show the level of employee motivation and satisfaction in Sales and Marketing department is quite low. The company culture has impact on staff motivation and satisfaction both positive and negative aspects. Moreover, the company has not created employee satisfaction for all the five levels of needs, only with physiological and social needs have been met. Money and working relationship are main influential motivations on employees’ decision to stay with the company. In addition, the managerial implication of the result for practice and future research will be discussed.
