Abstract: Engaged human resource is one of the precious competitive advantages that all organizations are striving for. However, the global workforce is experiencing a restructuring with the increase of Gen Z. The downtrend of employee engagement in Gen Z is an alarm to the organizations about maintaining bonding with Gen Z workforce. This paper investigates the factors that influence Gen Z’s employee engagement in Vietnam. The result of this research may help organizations to come up with effective solutions to engage this valuable workforce. In this research, qualitative method was selected. An online survey was conducted among 248 Gen Z employees who are entry level and white-collar working in various industries, such as Manufacturing, Education, Banking and Finance, Retails and Supply Chain Management. The paper reveals that there are 4 factors that influence the employee engagement of Gen Z in Vietnam. Ordered by the significance of impact, they are Transformational Leadership, Task Identity, Physical Work Environment and Autonomy. Based on that, there are recommendations for organizations to engage Gen Z workforce effectively.
